Reports to: Executive Pastry Sous Chef
Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Job Summary: Assist the pastry team in creating high-quality desserts and baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the pastry team in creating exquisite desserts, pastries, and breads that reflect our commitment to excellence.
- Support Executive Pastry Chef on daily operations and collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to design seasonal menus that align with the resort’s luxury dining experience.
- Ensure consistency in presentation, flavor profiles, and quality, maintaining a seamless guest experience across all dining outlets.
- Train, mentor, and develop pastry team members, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
- Uphold best practices in kitchen operations, including sanitation, food safety, and inventory management.
- Work closely with other culinary and front-of-house teams to enhance guest satisfaction and exceed expectations.
- Prepare doughs, batters, and other pastry items.
- Assist with plating and presentation of desserts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of pastry experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a fine dining environment.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a commitment to maintaining the highest culinary standards.
- Culinary degree or professional training preferred.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Familiarity with property (e.g., Boonfly, FARM, Hilltop).
- Team player mentality and a commitment to maintaining the resort’s high standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
- Ability to navigate the resort’s expansive property as applicable
