POSITION OVERVIEW

Create memorable Napa Valley dining experiences at Boon Fly Cafe, the lively and unique restaurant at Carneros Resort and Spa. As a Bartender, you will craft cocktails, serve beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, and provide warm, engaging service in a fast-paced environment. 

The ideal candidate brings strong beverage knowledge, genuine hospitality, and careful attention to quality, consistency, and responsible alcohol service. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • • Prepare and server cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes, presentation standards, and guest preferences. 
  • • Welcome guests warmly, describe beverage offerings, and provide thoughtful recommendations and pairings. 
  • • Maintain working knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, featured beverages, and current resort offerings. 
  • •Accurately enter orders, process payments, handle cash, and maintain accountability for assigned transactions.  
  • • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar, including glassware, tools, equipment, service stations, and storage areas.   
  • • Monitor inventory levels, rotate products, minimize waste, and communicate replenishment needs. 
  • • Prepare garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar ingredients as assigned.   
  • • Coordinate closely with servers, culinary team members, hosts, and managers to ensure accurate orders and timely service.   
  • • Respond professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns, involving a manager when appropriate.   
  • • Follow all resort policies and applicable requirements related to food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, workplace safety, and cash handling.   
  • • Attend required meetings and training sessions and perform other duties as assigned.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • • Previous bartending experience in an upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, resort, or similarly high-volume environment preferred.
  • • Working knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service.  
  • • Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest-service skills. 
  • • Ability to remain composed, organized, and attentive during high-volume service.
  • • Accuracy with orders, payments, recipes, measurements, and presentation standards.  
  • • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.  
  • • Experience with restaurant point-of-sale systems and cash handling preferred. 

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

  • • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.  
  • • Reliable and punctual attendance is required.  


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.  
  • • Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements. 
  • • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds, including beverage cases, ice, glassware, and bar supplies. 
  • • Ability to work around hot and cold equipment, cleaning products, noise, and wet or slippery surfaces. 
  • • Ability to navigate the restaurant and other areas of the resort as needed.
