Catering Sales Manager | Full Time

Position: Full Time, Exempt

Position Summary:

Carneros Resort and Spa is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Catering Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating catering sales, developing client relationships, and coordinating events at our luxury resort. This position plays a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction, maximizing revenue, and maintaining the resort’s high standards of excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Proactively solicit new catering business through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Respond to inquiries and convert leads into confirmed catering bookings.
  • Achieve or exceed catering sales revenue targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Client Relations:

  • Conduct site tours, tastings, and client meetings to promote the resort's catering offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through event execution.

Event Planning & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with clients and Catering Event Managers to plan the details of events including menu selection, room setup, décor, and audiovisual needs.
  • Work closely with internal departments (culinary, banquet, operations) to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Attend and oversee events as needed to ensure client satisfaction.

Administrative & Reporting:

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), and event summaries.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and produce regular sales activity and forecast reports.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of catering sales or event planning experience, preferably in a resort or luxury hotel setting.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals and managing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or event management software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment with a mix of office and on-site event coordination.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 lbs when needed during event setups.
